1970 E-Body Fender Tag Decoder This decoder works with 1970 E-Body (Plymouth Barracuda & Dodge Challenger) Mopar Fender Tags only. In 1970 Mopar used two assembly plants to produce Cudas and Challengers. The first plant, and larger of the two, was Hamtramck and the second plant was Los Angeles. All the Fender Tags we've seen from Hamtramck used one type of font. However, the Los Angeles facility used two types of fonts on their fender tags. The more common font (the same as Hamtramck used) is what most people are used to seeing on fender tags. The second font was less bold and is often referred to as the LA "thin" or "skinny" font. We have only seen the skinny font used on E-Bodies built at the LA plant and it is less common then the standard font normally used at Hamtramck and LA. Regardless of the font, carefully transfer your fender tag codes to the decoder program based on the exact location of each character. This decoder is for entertainment purposes only and not meant to be an authenticator of Fender tags. There are a lot of fake Mopar fender tags and if you have questions about a fender tag's authenticity it's best to hire an expert. You can also ask for free help on the E-Bodies forum as many experts will give you their opinion at no cost. Contact us on the forum if you need assistance with anything. We will be happy to help you with using the decoder. Forum Help For 2 FENDER TAG CARS, see note below. TO CLEAR THE SHEET OF ENTRIES USE THE "CLEAR SHEET" BUTTON AT THE BOTTOM.
